  1. I am 48, divorced. I have a 21-year old son and 19-year old daughter.
I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer in August 2012. I went through surgery to remove the cancer tumor in Septemeber and had 20 sessions of radiotherapy in November.

I am lucky to have detected cancer early. As there were no signs of spread, I did not need to go for chemotherapy.

My family and friends were very caring and supportive during this difficult period. As I am a Financial Services Consultant, I have adequate insurance coverage to take care of my medical expenses. I did not need to worry about my financial burden and was able to focus on my recovery.

I have no pain, did not suffer any side effects from the radiotherapy. I am currently on medication for cancer for the next 5 years.

I will want to encourage those who have been diagnosed with cancer to face the disease with courage like I did.
