When you are about to be warded in a Singapore hospital, have a friend or relative inform the hospital of your medical insurance cover. They will contact the insurance company's claims department and electronically register your hospital admission. You can also get your insurance company to issue a Letter of Guarantee or LOG. This letter serves to let the hospital know that the insurance company is obliged to pay for your medical bills and will often reduce your upfront cash outlay.
